Happy International Women’s Day from the United Nations

Women all over the world today and every day I salute you! Here’s to authentic women. May we know them. May we raise them. May we be them.
— Dr Okolo

I’m celebrating International Women’s Day at the 67th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW67) in New York. This year’s theme is digital technology and innovation for gender equality.

I’ll be spending time learning about opportunities and examples of solutions bridging the digital divide for women and girls globally.

I believe that digital technology has as much power to bridge as well as widen inequity gaps in women’s health. Technology is created in vacuums that are biased and power rigged. So we must pay attention to who is being left behind.

In my next few blogs, I’ll be sharing the following:

  • My takeaway messages from the CSW67 event

  • Thoughts on how to “code” for gender equity in digital technological innovation.

WOMEN hOLD UP HALF THE WORLD. HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY to women all over the world.

P.S

As always, if my thoughts this week struck a cord, piqued your interest, or you’d like to explore some of these ideas further or have questions, leave a comment and write to me HERE.
